Amukelani Rikhotso, 29, was found guilty on charges of culpable homicide, driving under the influence of alcohol and inconsiderate driving by the Mankweng Regional Court last week.
Rikhotso made a U-turn on the N1 South outside Polokwane on 15 March last year causing an accident in which then Public Service and Administration Minister, Collins Chabane and his two protectors Lesiba Samuel Sekele and Marene Lawrence Lentsoane were killed.
He was arrested and granted R5 000 bail by the Polokwane Magistrate’s Court during his first appearance after the accident.
His bail conditions were extended during last week’s court appearance for him to be sentenced on 15 June.
