New appointments at Mogalakwena Municipality

POLOKWANE – A new acting municipal manager and chief financial officer have been appointed at the Mogalakwena Municipality.

Patricia Nake takes up the reigns as the municipal manager, while Sasa Molenda was appointed as the chief financial officer.

The duo is from the department of cooperative governance, human settlements and traditional affairs.

This follows four weeks without service delivery from the municipality after municipal workers downed tools demanding the implementation of benchmarking of salaries according to municipalities with the same grading scale.

Several parts of Mahwelereng are experiencing water shortages and power cuts, while the usual sleepy town of Mokopane is not entirely affected.

Rubbish has been seen littered on the pavements of Mokopane and the area is now filled with an unbearable stench.

In the meanwhile, some nyaope addicts have found temporary employment by collecting waste in the municipality.
