Best exhibitors at show awarded

The South African National Defence Force (SANDF) was awarded Freedom of the Show by organisers at the Polokwane Show and Music Festival’s award ceremony last Thursday.
Organiser Lelané van der Merwe said that no other exhibitor could top the way the SANDF supported and embraced the show and the organising committee wanted to do something special to thank them. They also handed over a gift of appreciation to SANDF exhibition coordinator for the past ten years, Hennie Gouws.
Laurence Short and his wife, Jennifer came all the way from Newcastle to be independent judges at the Polokwane Show. Short is on the planning committee of the Vodacom Newcastle Winter Festival that draws thousands of guests every year.
Short explained that the stalls and exhibitions were judged on two criteria; how they treated the judges when the judges posed as potential customers and how much effort they put into their exhibitions.
André Venter announced the award winners on behalf of the committee and thanked every exhibitor for their individual input. “We know that it is a tough economic climate out there and that it takes time and money for you to be here and to help us show the world the best that Polokwane and Limpopo has to offer,” he said.
