Local artist open act for Idols finalst
A local rapper was one of two upcoming artists from the Limpopo Artist Movement who were invited by the renowned Mmatema Moremi (Idols finalist), to serve as the opening act before her performance at Meropa Casino last Friday.
MOKOPANE – Rapper MC Ray from Mapela village and Afro Jazz star, David Mbi from Venda was accompanied by the chairperson of the Limpopo Artist Movement, Mphoza Mashabela, to the event.
Mashabela said: ” I am thrilled that our artists were given the opportunity to open for a renowned artist such as Mmatema. We appreciate the exposure and the opportunity. We believe this is only the beginning of similar opportunities to come.”
Mmatema was a motivational guest speaker during a recent workshop hosted by the Limpopo Artists Movement. More than 270 artists from across Limpopo attended the workshop. Mashabela thanked the following sponsors, SABC Limpopo Combo, B3 Funerals and Wonder Engineering for their contribution.
The Limpopo Artist Movement is planning an Election Prayer on 22 July at the Polokwane Library Auditorium. All political parties, churches and artists are invited to come and pray with.
