Amid great fanfare and drumming, Alicia Goosen drove away in a brand new Ford Ranger at Meropa Casino and Entertainment World last Wednesday as the ‘We Love Motor Millions’ promotion drew to a close.
Local traditional singing and dance group, Makobenjalo ensured that guests were fired up and ready for the final draw. With their rousing drumming and pure voices, the young singers had the audience eating out of their hands.
The ‘We Love Motor Millions’ promotion ran from 1 April to 30 June at Meropa. Guests who have earned 150 points by 07:00 on 16 May qualified for the first draw where Malesela Modiba won a Ford Figo.
In total, R100 000 worth of cash and free-play was also given away during the first draw, with the runner up taking home a whopping R25 000 in cash.
Guests who have accumulated 300 points during the promotional period qualified for the final draw. Besides the Ford Ranger, R180 000 in cash was also given away to lucky winners.
Susan Olewagen won a whopping R25 000 as second prize after she and Goosen was the last of the finalists to draw lots for the car.
When Meropa’s Events and Entertainment Coordinator, Russia Chabalala asked Goosen whether she will be able to drive such a large vehicle, her quick witted answer had the audience in stitches.
“Can I drive it? I can spin this baby.”
