LIMPOPO – The total value of these vehicles is estimated at R6 334 540,30.
• The Capricorn district received seven vehicles.
• The Mopani district received nine vehicles.
• The Sekhukhune district received seven vehicles.
• The Vhembe district received seven vehicles.
• The Waterberg district received six vehicles.
• The provincial office received one vehicle.
“Today we see a caring and committed government in action as we hand over these vehicles to serve the people of Limpopo. These vehicles will ensure accelerated service delivery in all the districts of the province and will surely address any existing backlogs,” says Mashamba.
“We acknowledge that budgetary constraints remain a cause for concern among the hard-working employees of the department, but we are confident that these vehicles will ease the burden. Indeed it is a joyous activity for us to distribute these vehicles.”
She implores staff members to share and look after all resources at their disposal. The staff members who will make use of these vehicles should take extra special care of them. The department cannot afford a situation where resources are lost or damaged within a short space of time.
“We know that accidents happen, but let us all be extra vigilant on the roads and strictly use the vehicles for their intended purpose, to serve the people of Limpopo with diligence and pride. We all have have the responsibility to manage and use resources carefully and sparingly. We urge the public to report any possible misuse of government vehicles. We are also glad to announce that a further R3 million has been allocated for the purchase of more vehicles where needed,” she concluded.
