Miss SA ecourages learners in Bolobedu to follow their dreams
Miss South Africa 2016, Ntandoyenkosi Kunene called on parents and teachers to work together to help the learners realise their dreams
LIMPOPO – 24-year-old Kunene (24) accompanied by First Princess, Elizabeth Molapo and top five contestant, Sarah Botes, recently visited Sefahone Primary School in Ga-Rapitsi village, Bolobedu outside Modjadjiskloof.
They arrived at the school in luxury vehicles sponsored by the Bolobedu-based company, Maeteko Group Holdings.
In her address to the learners and parents, she said parents must always be positive and support their children in everything they do.
Kunene is a qualified teacher and said she had a dream of becoming Miss South Africa from the age of four.
“Speak words of encouragement,” she told parents. “Don’t let your background hold you back. Follow your dreams and strive for success,” she said.
Kunene donated scarves, gloves and caps to the learners to help keep them warm.
Mathole Bus Services (MBS) donated school uniforms to all the learners. This is the second time the company makes a donation of this kind to the school this year.
Zina Rammutla of Maeteko Group Holdings said his company, in collaboration with Mathole Bus Service will donate school shoes to the learners.
Parents were asked to ensure their children’s school uniforms are clean when they come to school. Deputy Chairperson of the School Governing Body, Samuel Mampeule handed over a Modjadji Cycad to Kunene which, according to Bolobedu custom, is one of the greatest gifts you can give to someone.
