Former Premier and African National Congress (ANC) Parliamentarian Cassel Mathale was the draw card when the Tsietsi Mashinini branch of the ruling party hosted a Siyanqoba rally in Phase 1 in Luthuli Park on Saturday. Mathale first joined the branch executive (below left) for a door-to-door in neighbouring Phase 2 (Featured photo), before it was off to the soccer field in Phase 1 where excited branch members awaited his arrival (below right) . The following day branch members would have joined the masses in the public viewing area and lifestyle hub at Seshego Stadium, to watch the cross-over from Gauteng where ANC President Jacob Zuma addressed the crowds during the national Siyanqoba rally that brought an end to the ANC’s campaign trail before today’s (Wednesday) local government elections.
