POLOKWANE – The tournament hosted by the University of Limpopo’s debating society held at the university just outside Polokwane recently.
This is the fourth time in recent years that the Eagle’s Nest team won the title and their second consecutive win. According to the Principal, Mac van den Berg, Eagle’s Nest is the first school to record a repeated overall victory.
A total of 18 teams from Limpopo participated in this year’s tournament, according to ENCS debate team coach, Chris Chapota. ENCS faced off against Hoërskool Louis Trichardt in the final round. “The competition aims to engage the learners in research activities as well as exercise their critical thinking abilities and presentation skills. I am proud that the team defended the title successfully,” says Chapota.
Three learners from the ENCS team were awarded individual accolades for their stellar performances.
