POLOKWANE – The month of August is all about women, and in celebrating Women’s Month DDKK Attorneys decided to not only celebrate the women of today but those of 1956.
Their annual Women’s Day celebration was a grand affair that took place at the Pietersburg Club this on Wednesday morning. Zelda le Grange the personal assistant of the late Nelson Mandela was one of the special guests at the DDKK Attoney’s Women’s Day event. She gave women the tools to uplift themselves by standing together and fighting for what they believe in.
Women’s Day should be use it to celebrate women’s power in society and remind ourselves of the sacrifices the women of 1956 made,” Zelda said.
Zelda continued to hail the heroines of yesteryear but also urged others to make a difference in the world they live in. “We often say that there is something wrong with society but we are society. We are the ones that should be changing society because we create the world we live in,” she continued.
Benno de Klerk, Attorney and Director at DDKK Attorneys explained the aim of the event: ” DDKK sponsors and arranges functions to celebrate Women’s Day. In the past, the focus has been on drawing attention to the abuse of women, as well as children. This year, we have invited women here to celebrate their womanhood in a relaxed and some-what fun atmosphere, but we also want them to take back a message of hope to the communities they live in, that women can achieve extra-ordinary greatness, no matter what,” De Klerk concluded.
