Noorderland Limpopo u.14 soccer champs

Noorderland High School’s u.14 soccer team participated in the provincial round of the McDonald’s u.14 School League hosted in collaboration with the South African Schools Football Association (Sasfa) on Saturday and walked out as the Limpopo champions. Having won the Pietersburg circuit round they went on to win the cluster competition in Ga-Mashashane on 6 August and qualified for the district finals.
To eventually win the provincial round they drew 1-1 against Haggai School from Vhembe, beat Ditheku Primary School from Waterberg district 3-0 and Moroathebe Primary School from Sekhukhune district 2-0. They faced Hudson Ntsanwisi Secondary from Mopane in the final match and triumphed 2-0 to take the title of Limpopo winners during the tournament hosted by Mpumalanga in Secunda last Saturday. Thomas Namathe, head coach of the team expressed his delight with their performance and said he was proud of every team member. The team and management are now hard at work to prepare for the national finals to be held in Johannesburg from 29 September to 1 October.
