Both experienced and budding artists had a great time at Mall of the North Saturday when they attended acrylic painting classes arranged by mall management and presented by Kristin du Toit.
Two workshops, one at 10:00 and one at 14:00 gave artists opportunity to learn new techniques and receive input from Du Toit.
They were also treated to delicious coffee and muffins from Mugg & Bean Mall of the North.
One participant, Joey van Rensburg said she could hardly contain her excitement at the idea of trying something new and artistic. “I have never painted a painting before. I could hardly sleep last night,” she exclaimed before the class started.
Mashie Mphahlele said it was therapeutic to create something beautiful in a social environment where she could meet new people and share a cup of coffee with them.
Canvasses and paint was supplied by Brushed. Brushed is a Johannesburg based studio, owned by Du Toit that offers art workshops designed to teach the basics of acrylic painting in a fun way.
After all the fun was over, the artists could take their creations home with them.
