WATCH: Korean flair at Pemps

Learners from Pemps Primary School were granted the opportunity to learn a number of interesting facts about Korean culture during the HIV/Aids and Life Skills Education Programme held at the school today (Thursday).

POLOKWANE – Korean delegates elaborated on Korean culture and norms while Korean Taekwondo fighter, Jung Gyeon Bae, accompanied by South African Taekwondo fighter, Lesego Maponyane, demonstrated their world class techniques that proved to be a hit among the learners.

Taekwondo is a Korean martial art, characterised by its emphasis on head-height kicks, jumping and spinning kicks, and fast kicking techniques.

Taekwondo was developed during the 1940s by various martial artists by incorporating elements of Karateand Chinese Martial Arts with indigenous Korean martial arts traditions.

There was a lot to see and hear and all the learners had a great time learning more about Korea.
