New teacher for Piet Pot
Hoërskool Piet Potgieter brags with a new teacher who recently joined in on their teaching escapades. The fashionable, Martha Ngoasheng, who teaches Sepedi as well as Arts and Culture strives to teach the learners the real meaning of education.
MOKOPANE – Martha was born in 1967 and grew up in Mashashane village in Mokopane. She started her teaching career in 1998 after she finished studying at Mokopane college and various other colleges. She has impressive qualifications behind her name which includes honours in special needs, a BA degree, certificate for computer literacy and a senior teachers degree. Before coming to HPP she taught at four different schools.
Even though Martha has a lot on her hands, she is still a warmhearted and caring wife and mother of two. Her hobbies are dancing and fitness. She describes herself rather sporty than a couch potato.
For her, the hardest thing about teaching is the fact that learners do not understand the true meaning of education. She describes the thoughts of children as “just being at school to pass time”. Martha feels education is the most important part of your life, “Education is what gives you courage to a better future.” She also told Bosveld that she is teaching learners to teach, because knowledge can never be taken away from you, it is a lifetime achievement.
