The ruling party and aligned structures have welcomed yesterday’s appointment of Onnica Moloi to the position of Sport, Arts and Culture MEC.
The media announcement was made by Premier Stan Mathabatha’s Spokesperson, Kenny Mathivha during a press briefing at the Premier’s Office. It followed Mathabatha’s reconfiguration of the Executive Council (Exco).
Mathabatha entrusted Transport and Safety, Security and Liaison MEC Mapula Mokaba Phukwana with the portfolio of Agriculture and Rural Development, a vacancy that arose after the passing of MEC Joy Matshoge in a car accident in June this year.
MEC Nandi Ndalane, who was replaced by Moloi, would from now on be responsible for the renamed Department of Transport and Community Safety.
The changes had become effective with immediate effect.
In wishing the new incumbent well and thanking the re-deployed MECs for the services rendered to the people, Mathabatha was quoted saying they believed the changes would provide effective service delivery and see a different Limpopo in years to come.
Among those issuing statements to the media welcoming Moloi’s appointment are the African National Congress and the Youth League in the province as well as the Office of the Chief Whip of the ANC in the Legislature, Falaza Mdaka.
