When Trappers Trading recently announced its Franchisee of the Year for 2016 it was local outlet Trappers Mall of the North that stepped up to claim the title for the second time.
Trappers Polokwane first opened its doors in 1994 in the Palm Centre. In 1998 they moved to Savannah Mall and in April 2011 opened its doors in Mall of the North.
The Trappers franchise goes to 1976 when the franchisor opened the first store in Pietermaritzburg. The aim was to supply the local community with essential outdoor gear. Today there are 36 outlets in eight provinces.
Pieter Olivier, owner of Trappers Mall of the North attributes the success of the store to the hard work and dedication of his ten well-trained staff members.
The criteria on which the store was evaluated included the store’s financial performance, owner’s reinvestment in the business, involvement in the broader franchise group, communication and feedback, store administration and local marketing efforts while updated in-store fixtures and graphics and the staff’s product knowledge, appearance and customer service were also evaluated.
At Trappers Mall of the North outdoor enthusiasts have a wide range of top quality products to choose from. Their best sellers include a variety of torches, binoculars and assortment of woman and men’s clothing including active wear, headwear, waterproof jackets and footwear.
Olivier said that the shop first won the award in 2014. “To receive this trophy again shows that hard work, dedication and committed employees, will make any business a success” he commented.
