Visit Doctors Without Borders at Mall of the North

A group of Doctors Without Borders or Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) representatives are visiting Mall of the North to raise awareness and educate people on what the doctors do and how local residents can get involved.

POLOKWANE – The Pretoria-based group will be in the city until Saturday, 15 October…  from 09:00-17:00 on week days and from 09:00 – 15:00 on Saturday.
MSF delegates are currently set up just outside Truworths in Mall of the North where they are informing shoppers on all their causes and programmes. This is a face-to-face fund-raising drive to create awareness for the work this international humanitarian organisation does.

The delegates elaborate on their work internationally and on home soil, including their HIV and TB projects in Eshowe, KwaZulu-Natal, and Khayelitsha in the Western Cape, as well as a project in Rustenburg which offers treatment to survivors of sexual abuse.
Team leader Kennedy Nhlangoti told Review the response has been slow but he hopes interest in the fund-raiser will increase over the course of the week. “We would like to invite residents of Polokwane and neigbouring towns and villages to come up to us in the mall and ask questions, it is a chance for people to learn more about our work,” he said.

Chezney Makola, a representative of Docotor’s Without Borders explains in more detail. “We save Lives,’ she says
