Seven behind bars for house robbery, theft

Seven suspects are expected to appear before the Mokopane Magistrate’s Court last night (Thursday) after being arrested during an intelligent-led operation last Thursday evening.

According to Provincial Police Spokesperson Moatshe Ngoepe the operation was conducted by members of the Mokopane Detectives Unit and Crime Intelligence Unit in and around the town.

“We arrested seven suspects who are possibly linked to a series of house robberies, housebreakings and incidents of theft. We believe they have been terrorising the community in and around Mokopane for the past few months and might be connected to other similar cases in neighbouring areas. We also confiscated three firearms during the arrest,” Ngoepe said.

Investigations continue.
