Housing contractor restores dignity for mother of three
An unemployed woman was gifted a brand new home by a housing contractor after the ANC failed to make good on their promise to build her an RDP house

THOHOYANDOU – A housing contractor based in Thohoyandou, Splish Splash Construction, donated a brand new house to an unemployed woman and her three children in Ha-Mutsha Muingamunwe recently.
Rendani Mudau (40) said it was a difficult situation living in a two-room mud-house with her children Takalani (22), Rabelani (20) and Rinae (13), as space was very limited and they had nowhere to cook their daily meals in the home.
“We wanted to restore human dignity,” said Thuso Mmbadi, Managing Director of Splish Splash Construction. “We want to help poor communities by building the people better houses.”
According to Mmbadi, his company was approached by members of the African National Congress (ANC)’s Tshifhiwa Nndwambi branch in Ha-Mutsha village, after Mudau was promised an RDP house which was never built.
He said his company also has social responsibilities towards the community and so it was their responsibility to assist the government by building free houses for the needy.
Mudau was over the moon when she was handed the keys to her new house.
“I’m very thankful for what Splish Splash Construction has done for me,” said Mudau.
