LIMPOPO – Police are searching for three suspects believed to have been involved in the murder of an 89-year-old man on a small holding just outside Lephalale on Saturday evening.
“According to preliminary information the suspects knocked on the door of the deceased at approximately 21:30 last night. When he opened the door three suspects entered and tied up JJ Lamprecht and his wife,” reports Provincial Police Spokesperson, Col Ronel Otto.
They demanded money and assaulted both Lamprecht and his wife before fleeing the scene with an unknown amount of money as well as a hand weapon adds Otto.
“Family members who could not reach the couple this morning (Sunday) realised that something was wrong and alerted other family members and members of the community. The couple was found at around 11:00 this morning (Sunday).”
No arrests have been effected yet.
