LIMPOPO – A top performing Gr 7 learner, Donald Sehoana will be travelling to Cape Town early next month thanks to the Intelligent Trip programme.
Intelligent Trip founder, Mpho Mothubi, says the organisation is all about incentivising learners and students to do well in their studies.
Donald will be one of 11 learners from several districts who will be flying to Cape Town on 6 December.
He says he believes this is the beginning of his success story and he wants to pave the way for a better life for him and his family. He hopes to study geology after matriculating.
“Nothing is impossible in this world. The world is waiting for us to make a difference. We are the future leaders of this country and that should not be undermined,” says Sehoana.
“ I sometimes face challenges regarding my studies, but with the support from my teachers, all goes well,” he says.
“Our aim is to introduce the learners to countries overseas where they will be exposed to commercial and scientific ventures,” Mothubi explains.
He wants South Africa to produce the best learners who will represent the country well wherever they go.
“The learners will be visiting Robben Island and parliament where they will learn what the island is and what it means to us,” he says.
He says parents should take education seriously and support their children in ensuring they produce good results.
Mankweng Circuit Manager, David Magagane said: “We appreciate the effort made by our teachers and that makes us a better circuit when compared with others. We look forward to producing stars which we believe will represent our circuit very well in future”.
