Lim schools top ‘16 SA blood donation rankings
The South African National Blood Service (SANBS) recently released their list of Top 100 schools in the country that have donated blood in 2016.
POLOKWANE – The South African National Blood Service (SANBS) recently released their list of Top 100 schools in the country that have donated blood in 2016.
And there are a few schools from Limpopo that made the list.
According to Donor Relations Practitioner at SANBS Polokwane, Dottie Pinn, the SANBS’s mobile blood clinics visit 35 high schools in Limpopo throughout the year.
The top school in South Africa is Tshiawelo Secondary School in the Louis Trichardt area with a total of 773 donations in 2016, with Humansdorp Secondary School hot on its heels with 715 donations.
The Limpopo schools that made the list, together with the number of donations they contributed in 2016 are:
First place: Tshiawelo Secondary School, 773
Second place: Humansdorp Secondary School, 715
Sixth place: Patrick Ramaano Secondary School, 508
Eight place: Hoërskool Pietersburg, 490
13th: Tom Naudé Technical High School, 389
57th: Mbilwi Secondary School, 267
90th: Taxila Secondary School, 220
97th: Hoërskool Ben Vorster, 215
99th: Merensky High School, 211.
