Gru, Minion Mel to visit city on Saturday

The Despicable Me movie franchise is a firm favourite with old and young and fans in Polokwane will have the opportunity to meet Gru and one of his minions, Minion Mel, at Mall of the North and Meropa Casino and Entertainment World on Saturday.
Gru is making his way across South Africa in anticipation of Despicable Me 3 being released in South Africa on 30 June.
Despicable Me introduced audiences to super villain Gru and his mischievous minions in 2010. After becoming father to orphans Margo, Edith and Agnes, Gru ultimately gave up his life of crime and turned into a super dad. In Despicable Me 2, released in 2013, Gru was recruited by top agent Lucy to join the Anti-Villain League (AVL). He thought romance was out of his reach until he fell for his spy partner.
Now Gru, Lucy and the girls return for an adventure featuring new characters and big surprises. A new super villain causes Lucy and Gru to lose their jobs. The minions who are desperate for a life of crime decide to leave Gru and go off in search of a new Big Boss. We also discover that Gru has a twin brother in the shape of Dru who is wealthy and charming with a head of fabulous golden hair.
Gru and Mel will start their visit to Polokwane at Mall of the North, where they will meet and have their photos taken with fans from 10:00.
After this session, the superstars will move on to Meropa where they will be meeting and greeting fans at 13:30 to 14:00, 14:30 to 15:00, 15:30 to 16:30, 17:00 to 17:30 and finally from 18:00 to 18:30.
