Representatives of the SANBS Polokwane branch spent the weekend at the Mall of the North chasing a combined target of 29 units of blood and managed to achieve a total of 34 units. In spite of recent successful blood drives held at Laerskool Pietersburg-Oos and Pietersburg Laerskool the blood donating community still rose to the challenge.
According to Piet Makwela, SANBS Limpopo Donor Attendant, the Friday shift was relatively busy with an intake of 13 units, while donors were scarce on Saturday morning but they started to arrive from 11:00. Sunday saw more donors helping to bolster the provincial levels, he explained.
