Noordskool takes on the ‘world’

Noordskool, the only public school to participate in the World Scholar Cup, had 33 learners taking part.

POLOKWANE – Laerskool Pietersburg-Noord, recently did well during the 2017 Limpopo round of the World Scholar Cup that was held at Mitchell House during the school holiday.

Ezme Jansen received a trophy for second place overall debater. She also receive athird place medal for champion scholar, a third place medal for the debate team as well as honors medals for Science, Writing and Social Studies.

Gr 7 English teacher, Estie Goveia told Review that she was happy to see the learners take time out of their holiday to take part in the competition.

Ntsako Mthembi (L) received second place in the History section and an honours medal in writing. Sky Gous (M) placed fourth for debating and an honors medal in the arts, history and science writing section. Khutso Makgamatho (R) received an honours medal in writing.
Thato Hams received the school’s top scholar award as well as first place in the Da Vinci scholars division.

“The learners showed great perseverance during the tasks and I am very proud of their performance and even more proud to say that they are in my English class,” she said.

Chantel Madiba took first place in the writing competition and received and honours medal in debating.
Ethan Ngwetjana too first place in the Arts division and received an honours medal for debating.
