Learners reach for better grades at winter school

Grade 12 learners and educators of Maseala Progressive Secondary School in Legae la Batho left the province on Tuesday to attend a nine day winter school matric camp near Rustenburg.
Abraham Mmethie, Deputy Principal of the school said the camp will give their most senior learners an opportunity to study and prepare for their final examination in a peaceful environment.
“We wanted to create an enabling environment for them where they will be able to study without any hindrances. For some it is difficult to study at their homes because they have to juggle their time between chores and school work,” he said.
He also mentioned that lessons will be offered by the Grade 12 educators who travelled with the learners.
“We have sent the educators who are responsible for all the subjects in Grade 12 along because we want the camp to be like a normal school programme,” Mmethie said and added that a academic timetable was given to each learner so that there would be no doubt as to why they are there.
