Car collides with truck on Vermikuliet Street

Motorists are advised to stay out of the far left hand lane, heading towards Makro.

POLOKWANE – According to witnesses on the scene, one of the vehicles was travelling towards Louis Trichardt and skipped the traffic light.

In an effort to avoid with oncoming vehicles, the car turned into Verkmikuliet and hit an oncoming truck.

There were no serious injuries, however, the traffic department is still on the scene and traffic is congested.

Motorists are advised to use alternative routes, if possible.

While on the scene Review journalist witnessed another near accident.

Municipal Spokesperson, Matshidiso Mothapo, warns motorists to pay attention to the road in front of them when approaching or passing an accident scene. This is in order to prevent a further obstruction to traffic flow or further risk of another accident.

“Pay attention to the road when passing an accident scene as well as the officers on the scene who are controlling the traffic. Give paramedics space to do their work.”
