Colourful start to spring

Instead of splashing each other with water as a way of welcoming spring, learners and educators at Northview Christian Academy showered one another with coloured powder as they participated at the school’s colour run on Friday.
About 325 learners participated and the school Principal, Zirkia Walkenshaw who missed the fun due to meetings explained that this was the first time they held a colour run at the school and emphasised that they wanted to do something different this year.
She said the idea was proposed by a staff member and that learners reportedly enjoyed it tremendously.
“Children like making a mess and the colour run gave them a platform to do so knowing that there are no consequences. This was a great idea and I think we will do it again,” Walkenshaw said.
She said the school celebrates spring season every year and they always try to come up with a new theme and activities.
