Westenburg High School twins, Tom and Jerry Hawkins say dancing is their passion.
POLOKWANE – The 15-year-old twins from Westenburg High School say they began singing and dancing when they were toddlers.
Today, the two boys have big plans for their future and look up-to television personalities such as Bonang Matheba and Lungile Radu.
The gr. 8 pupils now entertain their community at church events and weddings, with their talents.
Their mother, who is a social worker by profession, says she is very proud of her sons and believes that they will become something big one day and help to make a difference in the community.
“I used to get calls from their teachers at school, telling me that my sons are busy dancing and singing at school during break time. The funny thing is that whenever I ask them to dance or perform for me they refuse and act all shy. But I know they are good. I have seen them perform their hearts out and it has even brought tears to my eyes, they wake up every day at around 5am to dance, their passion for entertaining people is amazing and I believe God wants to use that in them to make a difference in other people’s lives. God gave all of us talents, and we must use them, that’s is our purpose in life,” said Bridgette Hawkins.
Raeesa Sempe is a Caxton Award-winning Digital Editor with nine years’ experience in the industry. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Media Studies from the University of the Witwatersrand and started her journey as a community journalist for the Polokwane Review in 2015. She then became the online journalist for the Review in 2016 where she excelled in solidifying the Review’s digital footprint through Facebook lives, content creation and marketing campaigns. Raeesa then moved on to become the News Editor of the Bonus Review in 2019 and scooped up the Editorial Employee of the Year award in the same year. She is the current Digital Editor of the Polokwane Review-Observer, a position she takes pride in.
