Some of the biggest names in the entertainment industry were in the line-up of the DStv iRock Festival programme held at venues across Polokwane this past weekend. It delivered top acts to the doorstep of local revellers and those further afield.
The introductory show was that of comedian David Kau at Jack Botes hall on Thursday evening. Where the prior cancelation of Hugh Masekela’s performance could have impacted on Friday evening’s Jazz Legends hosting at Meropa Casino and Entertainment World, the impressive line-up still made up for it. Among others it featured Gemma Griffiths, Jonas Gwangwa, Dr Thomas Chauke and Colbert Mukwevho. Saturday evening’s audience was privy to a handful of showstoppers, who included Cassper Nyovest, Kwesta, Black Motion, Culoe de Song and Amanda Black at Polokwane Cricket Club.
During Sunday’s gathering in the park at the town square radio deejays Ike and Msizi Shembe treated their audience to popular sounds.
Polokwane Observer was there to capture the action.
