The phone lines are abuzz as close to a suprising 15 000 votes in the Public Choice category of the popular Polokwane Observer Cover Girl competition had already been cast at deadline time.
Tuesday morning first thing pageant coordinator Katryn Celliers confirmed that 14 908
votes had thus far been received and that social media is on fire with public involvement relating to the competition.
Voting for the favourite entrants is still open until 20:00 on 6 October, the eve of the pageant that is being held at Meropa Casino and Entertainment World on 7 October.
The Public Choice contestants in the Miss Polokwane Observer Cover Girl competition are battling it out for the overall title and a trip to the annual Limpopo Beauty four-day beach photo shoot happening in Durban from 2 to 5 December this year, with flights and accommodation worth R5 000 being sponsored.
The public choice favourite in each age group will also be awarded a one of a kind Gold Rhinestone Tiara with a sash and gift.
Entries for Miss Polokwane Observer Cover Girl only close on 6 October at 18:00. Limpopo Beauty Modeling Academy is hosting a free modelling workshop and meeting for all contenstants in the main conference venue at Meropa Casino and Entertainment World on 6 October at 18:00, when entries will still be received. That evening models in attendance will have the opportunity to walk the runway ahead of pageant day.
Every entrant will be collecting five cans of food to be donated to the Phontsho Disability Centre in Lebowakgomo by the winners. “Teaching our youth to care and give is what pageantry is all about,” Celliers reiterated when saying the main purpose of Limpopo Beauty pageants being building self-confidence in young girls and inculcating the notion of giving back to the community.
