Angelique Goulkan was named Nirvana Primary School’s overall top achiever for Grade 7 during the school’s academic excellence awards held at the School hall on Friday.
The 12-year-old, who has aspirations of becoming a chartered accountant, was also named the top learner in Afrikaans Home Language, Economic Management Services, Life Orientation and English Home Language.
She said the accolades are the result of the hard work she had put in the last twelve months.
“Nothing comes easy in life, so I studied very hard throughout the year because I wanted to make my parents proud. I am happy to be named the best overall learner at the school,” Angelique said.
According to her father, Ray Goulkan, Angelique has been doing academically well since Grade R.
“It is not the first time she wins these kind of accolades. She has always been a top performer in every grade and a leader and we are proud of her.”
