A royal affair is in the planning for next weekend when King’s Castle in Polokwane will roll out red carpet treatment for a distinguished party of kings and queens expected to gather for their Valentine’s Day feast of dinner, dancing and a one-night stay-over at the establishment.
Party fever is tangible at this quaint location in the heart of the city where plans are afoot for 16 February’s formal Valentine’s ball. According to King’s Castle owner Sarie van der Spuy the package on offer entails a romantic couple’s evening of fantastic food, joyful dancing to good music by out-of-town music duo Kobus and Tanja Barnard, overnight in one of the exquisite rooms and a scrumptious breakfast the following morning.
Miss Limpopo 2018 Gail Mokwatlo got taken by their excitement over the upcoming Valentine’s Ballroom Dance during a visit to this establishment with its befitting medieval ambience on Tuesday afternoon.
Treated to champers, she had a glimpse of the treats that await amid a castle-like atmosphere, plush furnishings and rustic accessories.
Couples can secure their bookings at a cost of R2 000 for a package that includes a six-course dinner with champagne, a room for two and a breakfast platter the next day.
The dinner menu features amuse bouche, a starter of a goat’s cheese and roasted butternut tower or prawn and avocado with salsa, followed by lime and ginger sorbet. For mains choose between fillet of beef on potato rosti with roasted root vegetables or chicken breast on mash with spaghetti vegetables. A cheese platter and a trio of chocolate will serve as the inevitable finishing touches.
