The managerial establishment of Capricorn District Municipality (CDM) has been strengthened by the appointment of three senior managers who took up office on 1 February.
Nokuthula Mazibuko was appointed Municipal Manager while Thabo Nonyane was appointed Chief Finance Officer and Joe Machaba Executive Manager Corporate Services. Moffat Senyatsi, CDM Media Liaison Officer, in a media release stated that the appointments are all on five-year contracts in line with the provisions of the Municipal Systems Act and Regulations on the Appointments and Conditions of Senior Managers.
“Mazibuko re-joins CDM after she served as Executive Manager of Developmental Planning and Environmental Management Services from 2012 to 2017. She has extensive diverse experience in town planning and in her long career, she also had stints as acting Municipal Manager during her tenure as Executive Manager at CDM. She holds a Master’s degree in Town and Regional Planning, a BA degree and a diploma,” Senyatsi informed.
According to Senyatsi, the council was of a single mind that Mazibuko was suitably qualified and widely experienced to implement the Integrated Development Plan (IDP) and meets the demands and dynamics of service delivery. “The position, as well as other positions has been vacant for a long period and the appointments will ensure that the municipality’s delivery machine performs at full steam and responds to the diverse needs of the people of Capricorn District,” Senyatsi said.
According to Senyatsi, Nonyane holds both a BCom and Honours degree in Accounting and is a registered chartered accountant. “Before joining CDM, he was the Audit Manager at the Office of the Auditor General. Mr Machaba has a long career in education as a principal, a position he held until he joined the district Department of Health as Senior Manager of Corporate Services. He has a Bachelor of Education degree and is currently a registered MBA candidate,” Senyatsi said.
