Polokwane Warrant Officer dies following R37 collision

Warrant Officer Modikana Samuel Moabelo (51), who was critically injured in a state-vehicle accident along the R37 road on Friday 16 February 2018, has died.

POLOKWANE – Moabelo, together with deceased Warrant Officer Malaisha Piet Lebogo, were on their way to attend to a protest situation in Atok, near Burgersfort when the accident happened.

The accident occurred next to the Manglemang village outside Lebowakgomo when the vehicle they were traveling in plunged into a ‘donga’ beside the road, reports Police Spokesperson, Motlafela Mojapelo.

The Provincial Commissioner Lieutenant General Nneke Ledwaba as well as provincial police management are saddened by Moabelo’s passing.

Moabelo was rushed to hospital, where he spent a week before succumbing to the injuries on Saturday night, 24 February. He will buried on Saturday, 3 March, at Madiba Park in Seshego, added Mojapelo.

Meanwhile the late Warrant Officer Lebogo was laid to rest on Saturday 24 February at his home village of Ga-Kibi.

Provincial Commissioner Lieutenant General Nneke Ledwaba, has, on behalf of police management conveyed the their deepest condolences to the deceased’s family, relatives, friends and colleagues.
