Athletes showcase talent in various sporting codes

Eagle’s Nest Christian School hosted a successful sport day in which ten schools participated on Saturday in chess, debate, volleyball and soccer.
Participating schools were Maseala Progressive School, Khanyisa Education Centre, PEPPS Preparatory School and College, Myngenoegen English Private School (Meps), The King’s Court Christian School, Happy Day Combined School, Noorderland High School, Ridgeway College and Southern Cross High School.
All the teams were hard at work and had their sights on the trophies and medals that were at stake. The support from the side-lines kept athletes energised.
Claudette Venter, Eagle’s Nest secretary and educator said the day was aimed at getting schools and communities together and giving learners a chance to enjoy themselves and demonstrate their talent in the different sporting codes.
She further said they were delighted that schools came out in their large numbers to support the day.
Venter added that participants had a good time and Eagle’s Nest got positive feedback from schools that participated and wished that such gatherings could be convened more often. She thanked the sponsors, participating schools and parents for making the day a success. The results are as follows:
