POLOKWANE – One of the robbers entered the guard room as the guards were changing shifts. The suspect was armed with a gun and held the guards at gunpoint while the others forced open the front glass door of Clicks.
According to a guard, the robbers took body spray and perfumes, but did not have a lot of time, as one of the other guards managed to press the panic button and the alarm went off.
The robbers fled in a black VW Golf.
Apcan Security were first on the scene, minutes after the incident as well as members of the Community Policing Forum (CPF). Police arrived at the scene around 07:40 and the scene was secured.
The manager of Clicks, who was also at the scene, did not want to comment. Police investigations into the matter will continue.
