Market day highlights small businesses in the city

Exposure is just what the small local businesses need to grow and owners had the opportunity to sell and display their items during a market day held on Wednesday in Ruiter Street.

MOKOPANE – The market day was organised through the Waterberg Municipality, Mogalakwena Municipality, Department of Agriculture, Small Enterprise Development Agency (SEDA) and Limpopo Economic Development Agency (LEDA) to encourage these small businesses to grow.

About 40 entrepreneurs displayed their items on the day and anything from jewellery, clothing, fruits, vegetables, artwork and child development toys were available to buy.

Joyce Maluleka and her team makes traditional Ndebele clothing and the money they receive from customers are given to a non profit organisation.
Johanna Bonga Monama is a skilled seemstress and she makes any sort of clothing. She also sold fabric.
