The Sterkloop Tackle and Petshop’s Fun Dog Show was a resounding success on Saturday with dogs of all breeds, shapes and sizes competing in 12 different categories.
Bruce, a black chow owned by Eric Smith, was king of the heap and named Dog of the Day. The dog wearing the most original costume was Blikkies, owned by Suné Bacher. The oldest dog at the show was 13-year-old Snowy owned by Lena Basson.
Other categories included Smallest Adult Dog, Smallest Adult Dog, Most Attractive Puppy, Best ‘Brakkie’ and Best Groomed Dog.
Sterkloop Tackle and Petshop owner, Stella de Jager thanked Supreme Pet and Limpopo K-9 Academy for their sponsorship and judges, veterinarian Nadia Ter­blanche Krige, Hanlie Jansen van Vuuren and Jeannie Aveling.
