#WFD – Sausage, Bean and Pap Bake

Bake for 20 minutes or until the top layer is golden brown.

POLOKWANE – Bakes are the perfect answer to ‘What’s for Dinner?’.

Easy to make and even more delicious to eat, this recipe incorporates sausage, beans and pap.

Ingredients

  1. 10ml oil
  2. 1 onion, (Sliced)
  3. 250g chorizo sausage, (Sliced)
  4. 2 tomatoes, (Chopped)
  5. 1 x KNORR Beef Stock Pot
  6. 410g baked beans, (1 Can)
  7. 750ml water
  8. 500g maize meal
  9. 10ml Robertsons Spice for Rice
  10. 2 eggs
  11. 250ml milk
  12. 125ml cheese, (Grated)
  13. Robertsons Paprika

Method

  1. Heat the oil; fry the onions.
  2. Add the sliced sausage and fry for a further few minutes. Add the tomatoes, stock pot and baked beans.
  3. For the Pap: Boil the water, add the maize meal and Spice for rice, and simmer for 20 minutes stirring occasionally.
  4. Spread the pap in the casserole dish, and then layer with the sausage and tomato mixture.
  5. Beat the eggs and milk then pour over the sausages and then top with grated cheese.
  6. Bake for 20 minutes or until the top layer is golden brown. Sprinkle with Paprika and serve.
