POLOKWANE – A 57-year-old male driver was arrested for speeding this morning, says spokesperson for the Department of Transport, Matome Moremi-Taueatsoala.
According to Moremi-Taueatsoala, the man was driving a Toyota at 208km/h on the N1 near Mookgophong.
He is currently being detained at the Mookgopong Police Station.
“We continue to urge motorists to adhere to the rules of the road. Limpopo is a zero tolerance zone when it comes to those who do not obey these rules,” he said.
Moremi-Taueatsoala added that the MEC for Transport, Makoma Makhurupetje is concerned that speeding has become a norm on the N1, especially around Mookgophong.
