Polokwane Housing Section, PHA relocate

The offices of Polokwane Housing Association (PHA) and Polokwane Municipality’s municipal housing section that were located at the corner of Landdros Maré and Bodenstein streets, were closed on Friday.
The municipal housing section was relocated to Itsoseng Centre next to the bus rank in the city and the PHA Unit to the new Peter Mokaba Stadium.
Communications and Marketing Manager of Polokwane Municipality, Matshidiso Mothapo, confirmed that the former offices as well as adjacent buildings on the same stand will be demolished to allow for the development of a retail/office block. Demolishing commenced already on Monday and motorists and pedestrians were advised to comply with all traffic signs and exercise caution in the vicinity of the construction activities.
Polokwane Observer has learnt that Mabone Building Contractors (Pty) Ltd is the new developer. A spokesperson for the company confirmed that the premises had been acquired and revealed that the building will be 2 800 m² in extent.
“Planning is in an advanced stage and further details of the project will be made available in due course,” the company’s representative said.
