#WFD – Quick and Easy Chicken Biryani

Serve immediately, topped with chopped fresh coriander.

POLOWKANE – Looking for something hearty to make for dinner tonight? Why not try a lekker biryani for the whole family to share and enjoy.

What’s for Dinner suggests serving this dish with a crisp green salad, or with roasted veggies of your choice.

Ingredients

– 1kg skinless, deboned chicken breasts
– 15ml vegetable oil
– 1 onion, chopped
– 1 onion, chopped
– 800ml hot water
– 1 x KNORR Rice Mate Mild Breyani
– 5ml Robertsons Crushed Chillies, or more, to taste
– salt and ground black pepper
– 60ml chopped fresh coriander

Method

– Cut the chicken breasts into strips and set aside.
– Heat the oil in a large pan and fry the onions for two minutes.
– Add the chicken strips and Portuguese seasoning and cook, stirring now and then, for 4 – 5 minutes.
– Add the hot water plus the sachets of seasoning mix and uncooked rice from the KNORR Rice Mate Mild Breyani box. Bring to the boil.
– Reduce the heat and simmer for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally. Stir in the crushed chillies and simmer for a further 5 minutes. Season to taste with salt and pepper.
– Serve immediately, topped with chopped fresh coriander.
