[TAKE NOTE] The Municipality will close for 6 working days but here’s what you need to know

Normal operations will resume on 2 January 2019.

POLOKWANE – The Polokwane Municipality will close for the festive season for 6 working days starting from 24 December 2018 to 01 January 2019.

During this period, most of the departments in the municipality won’t be active whilst others only require skeletal staff to run.

“Emergency and essential services like fire and rescue, water and sanitation, electrical services and traffic management will be available at all times to the community. Normal operations will resume on 2 January 2019,” said Matshidiso Mothapo, Communications Manager for the municipality.

Essential services staff will continue to render services for critical areas of work within the City during this period and operating hours for the Rates Hall will be from 08h00 to 12h00.

PRE-PAID PURCHASE POINTS:

Pre-paid purchase points will include the vending machine outside the Civic Centre; Zone 1 and Zone 3; filling stations where indicated; Cellphone banking; Internet banking; the Post Office as well as the following stores:

– Pick-n-Pay
– Shoprite
– Checkers
– Spar
ACCOUNTS CAN BE PAID AT:

– Pick-n-Pay
– Shoprite
– Checkers
– Spar

You can also pay your accounts at Edgars, Woolworths and the Post Office

Electronic Fund Transfers (EFT) can be made directly into the Municipality’s bank account: Standard Bank Polokwane, Acc: 030 172 349, Branch: 052 548. Don’t forget to use your municipal account number as your reference.

WHEN AFTER HOUR RE-CONNECTIONS ARE REQUIRED:

The municipality says officials are on standby from 09:00 – 21:00

The smart meter contact centre will open 24 hours a day and can be contacted at 087 350 2770 or text 32195.
