Mayor wishes everyone a blessed festive season

Festive message from Polowane Mayor, Thembi Nkadimeng.

“I continue to be grateful for the support and cooperation that the people of Polokwane continue to display for us as council to be able to operate. This is the cornerstone of the Re Aga Polokwane campaign that seeks to get the community involved and positively contribute towards the rebuilding of the city for the future. We remain resolute to the common vision of building a smart city together.
As a God fearing community, I humbly request that we all join hands in prayer for peace, unity and stability to prevail – a prayer for all of us to be driven by the spirit of goodwill and togetherness. We must continue to strive to be moved by a spirit that will enable us to outgrow hatred and conflicts.
To most of us 2018, had its equal moments of highs and lows and as it comes to an end, we wish to convey a message of more hope to you the people of Polokwane and your loved ones. Most of all it’s time for all of us to have fun and be inspired by the spirit of giving and sharing with those who are less fortunate and vulnerable. The festive season is about family, resting and having fun.
While most of our employees will be on recess, many will remain behind to ensure that essential services are provided to the community. Special gratitude to all those who are remaining to ensure that the community continues to enjoy the services. Our humble plea is that we need to continue using water with the utmost respect at all times.
Once again, parents are encouraged to spend money mindful of our children’s educational needs in the new year. Let us honour and celebrate all the men and women in uniform – the police, traffic officers, medical practitioners – for their patriotic call to protect and save lives during this period.
To those who will be on the roads, please exercise patience, tolerance and humility. Don’t drink and drive. Never forget to thank The Almighty for protecting us all in 2018. We must also pray that He delivers us into 2019 in good health and unharmed.
On behalf of the Polokwane Municipality, I take this opportunity to wish all of you a Merry Christmas and a healthy, prosperous 2019.”
