Phalaborwa: Trio crime suspects nabbed following police chase through Namakgale streets
Their arrest follows a house robbery incident which occurred on a farm in Letsitele on Sunday morning
LIMPOPO – According to a statement issued by Police spokesperson,. Col Moatshe Ngoepe, two of the three suspects allegedly attacked and robbed an employee at the said farm at around 06:00 on Sunday, 30 December.
“They tied him up using ropes, assaulted him before they robbed him of his belongings before fleeing the scene. During the incident a mattress, a shotgun, two TV’s, groceries, liqour and a Toyota Hilux belonging to the farm owner were taken.”
The police were notified, responded swiftly and a manhunt composed of various Police Units, the Private Security and other role players ensued until the stolen vehicle was spotted at Namakgale.
“The Police attempted to intercept the vehicle but the suspects sped off until the driver lost control and crashed against a boundary wall in one of the streets. All suspects were apprehended and all stolen items recovered,” Ngoepe added.
One of the arrested suspects was found to be one of four prisoners who escaped from police custody while being transported by the Haenertsburg Police to a court in Polokwane on 14 November. This suspect is also connected to a murder case which was committed in the Ritavi Policing area outside Tzaneen.

The arrested suspects, aged between 24 and 35, will appear before the Namakgale and Nkowankowa Magistrate Courts respectively, soon.
The Provincial Police Commissioner, Lieutenant General Nneke Jim Ledwaba has commended the Saps members, the Security members and other role players who participated in this arrest.
“All criminals out there, are warned to stop their dubious acts now, not so, we are going to deal with them mercilessly and without compromise,” concluded General Ledwaba.
