He (Buthane) loudly proclaimed that the Premier came to the legislature with “nothing to say.” Some people agreed, others not, but then Buthane crossed the floor to the ANC and put his arms around Mathabatha’s shoulder.
The Sergeant-at-Arms, Hasani Ngobeni tried to restrain Buthane and get him to return to his seat, but Buthane would have nothing of it. Security personnel then were called in and a scuffle ensued. EFF members George Raphela and Rendani Munyai who went to assist Buthane, were also forcefully removed.

The rest of the EFF members left the hall. The Democratic Alliance also left Legislature, saying it should not have been allowed that songs be sung before the end of the proceedings.
