Cynthia gives back through working within her community
Having been one of the few beneficiaries from Phologo Drop In Centre, Cynthia Kgare from Seshego has taken it up to herself to give back to the community by volunteering to help at a shelter for the underprivileged.
POLOKWANE – “Growing up, I was also helped by the same center that I am volunteering at. When the center was opened in 2009, I was nine-years-old and I started going to the center after school because my parents had to go to work. They really look out for the needy and help them in any way that they can and for that I will always be grateful. To show my gratitude, I have decided to volunteer my time to help in any way that I can at the center to ensure that everything runs smoothly and that all the children at the center haven a comfortable stay while they are there. I help to prepare food as well as facilitate social and educational support programs during the children’s stay at the center,” she explained.
Cynthia is an aspiring model, who dreams of becoming a well known model across all platforms, from billboards, multimedia and print media. She says she has come to realize how much power or influence public speakers have because of their reputation. She says she would love to compete in modelling at an international level.
“Competing at a national level has afforded me an opportunity to grow as a model as well as community developer, because it is one of my greatest beliefs that anyone who has connections and has influence, must play a role to ensure they help those in need. I have won several titles including the Miss Cultural Heritage in 2016 and ever since then, I realized my passion for beauty pageants and continued to pursue a career in this industry. I am now chosen as the Ambassador of my Province “Limpopo” to represent it in the Miss Teenager South Africa pageant,” she explained.

Cynthia says her activeness in the pageantry world is so that she can learn to embrace her unique beauty, to gain more self- confidence as well as touch lives through charity projects. She says she also aims to inspire other teens to have the confidence to dream big and never stop working hard to achieve their dreams.
“I’ve decided to start a campaign against body-shaming and the motive behind #NoBodyShame is because I noticed how body bashing is a norm among my peers. I joined hands with other young girls, who share the same thoughts and sentiments as I do, in order to achieve this goal,” she added.
