Stanfordians rule the pitch against St Dunstan’s

Stanford Lake College’s (SLC) rugby teams had a field day during their recent derby against Beaulieu College from Gauteng. The u.15As attained a 33-14 win with Christian Krüger scoring a try, Sifiso Magagula two tries and Devon Coad two tries and four conversions. The u.16s played a sevens match which they won 31-10. Ethan Jones, Stefan Otto and Dylan van den Berg each scored a try and Abe Athanassiades two. Each of Abe, Dylan and Ethan also converted a try.
SLC’s first team had a chance to restore their pride after suffering a loss against St. Dunstan’s College the previous weekend. According to the school’s marketer, Beth Coetzee, improved communication and well-rehearsed sets of play resulted in a 45-34 victory for the team.
Thomas Mayes and David Pullinger scored two tries each. Musa Mathebula, Marthinus Maritz and Ethan Chidavaenzi contributed 1 try each and Ethan converted five of them.
