
LIMPOPO – The four suspects, aged between 25 and 37, were nabbed during an intelligence led joint operation, comprising members from the Crime Intelligence unit, the Tracking Team and detectives supported by local private security and the Community Police Forum (CPF), which was conducted in the Tzaneen cluster on Friday, 12 July.

In a statement, Police spokesperson, Col Moatshe Ngoepe said the first suspect was found to be driving the vehicle matching the description of the said vehicle and was arrested in the Tzaneen CBD. “The operation unfolded and shortly thereafter the three accomplices were spotted travelling in a white BMW without registration numbers and were. This motor vehicle was pulled off the road, but the suspects resisted and sped off and a motor vehicle chase ensued until they were cornered in one of the villages outside Lenyenye. The three suspects attempted to flee on foot but the team chased and nabbed them,” Ngoepe explained.
During the arrest two vehicles, 14 cellphones and clothing were recovered. The origin of these items will still be determined through ongoing police investigations.
These suspects are still being profiled and may be connected to a number of similar cases and other crimes committed in the Tzaneen, Mankweng and Makhado clusters.
The arrested suspects will appear before the Tzaneen Magistrate’s Court soon.
